Aura Elizabeth Vizcaya, a brave and dedicated mother, began her journey by offering support to other mothers at the therapy centers she attended with her son Mauro, who was diagnosed with autism at 20 months. As someone also diagnosed with autism and combined ADHD, Aura deeply understood the challenges many families face. Realizing the lack of support, inclusion, and adequate resources for early intervention within the Hispanic community in Gwinnett County, GA, she decided to take action. This led to the creation of a support network for parents, which over time evolved into the nonprofit organization we now know as Autismo Día a Día.
If you are a mother in a similar situation, I want you to know that you are not alone. We are here to support each other, and I completely understand what you are going through. Autism has come into our lives to teach us to unlearn and relearn, and to live one day at a time—Day by Day.
Your support and contribution to Autismo Día a Día (EIN#85-2996897) helps neurodivergent families connect with the appropriate services they need.
Autismo Día a Día's mission is to empower the Hispanic community by providing educational information, professional intervention referrals, and practical tools to advocate for the rights of individuals and families affected by the Autism Spectrum. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment, extending our dedication to those facing other special needs and learning disorders as well. We work tirelessly to ensure that every family has access to the resources they need to thrive and that each individual is valued and understood in their entirety.
We aspire to be the leading reference in creating an inclusive and equitable society for individuals with autism and their families. Our vision is to empower each individual to live a fulfilling and meaningful life by providing quality resources, education, and support. We are committed to promoting neurodiversity and transforming the perception of autism through innovation, collaboration, and awareness. We believe in a future where every person is valued for their uniqueness and where inclusion is a reality lived day by day.
